In the main event of AEW Dynamite this week, Sammy Guevara and MJF looked to settle their rivalry once and for all. Guevara’s mentor and pro-wrestling legend, Chris Jericho, was on the commentary team for the show.

In the match, MJF and Guevara both tried to outdo the other. Towards the end, ‘The Spanish God‘ almost won the match, but fortune was, unfortunately, not on his side.

After a close two-count with a 630 sent, Sammy was looking for another opportunity to topple MJF. However, Shawn Spears from the latter’s Pinnacle stable suddenly made his way to the ring.

Jericho went up from the commentary table to stop Spears but was attacked by Wardlow in return. As the referee checked on Jericho, Spears hit Sammy with a chair. MJF then went for the cover and got the victory.

Following the match, Jericho took to Twitter to talk about the match. He claimed MJF stole the victory, but it was a great match. He also claimed high-value matches like the main event are the reason why AEW is the best.

He wrote, “Tonight’s Sammy Guevara vs MJF match was one of the best I’ve ever seen in AEW & I was living vicariously through the Spanish God as he beat the shit out of MJF! Sadly, the wrong man won, but both guys proved why AEW is the BEST wrestling company in the world today!”

Although the match is over, the rivalry between The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle is not. Considering the controversial ending, the two stables will meet again!

Will we see MJF vs Chris Jericho in AEW?

Ahead of the match, MJF cut a promo on Chris Jericho. He said he had bested Jericho over the months when he created his own stable and beat him at Blood and Guts.

MJF has replaced Jericho as The King of AEW. Instead of walking away with pride, Jericho turned “All Elite Wrestling to his own perverted version of Looney Toons.”

He also called Jericho a joke. Then, he teased he would give Jericho a new stipulation if he wanted to face “The Salt of The Earth.”

If Jericho manages to pull through the stipulation, it would be the last match between the two.
