Orange Cassidy gets knocked out cold during #1 contender match against PAC

Orange Cassidy and PAC were battling it out to become the newest #1 contender for Kenny Omega’s AEW World Championship. Both men entered this match with a ton of momentum and a couple of victories under their belt. The match went on for two segments and was progressing nicely until the final moments.

In the final moments of the match, OC attempted a victory roll on PAC, but he kicked out at 2. PAC then got up and turned the tide. He sent Cassidy into the ropes and connected with a vicious Superkick. The kick connected right on OC’s jaw and sent him crashing down on the mat like a stack of cards.

Initially, no one really understood what happened. Orange Cassidy is known for his selling, and many wondered if he was merely selling the kick. However, he was not. PAC somehow lifted the lifeless ‘Freshly Squeezed‘ Orange Cassidy and hit him with another big move, this time a Liger Bomb!

The impact of the Liger Bomb wasn’t pleasant either. You can see OC’s head banging off the mat as PAC delivers the Liger Bomb.

Plus, you can also clearly see Cassidy is unable to kick out, and PAC himself gets out of the cover to make it look like a close-count. Immediately after this, Dynamite went to commercial.

Once the show returned from break, OC was still on the outside. A hasty segment with Omega and PAC saw the champ attack the challenger. This led to Tony Khan making the AEW World Championship match a three-way match.

The end of the match and segment in general was very abrupt. It seems like they had cut down major portions of the match because of OC legitimately getting knocked out. We hope there’s nothing to worry about and wish he makes a speedy recovery!
