Punk kicked off the show with a massive pop from the crowd. The chants were so loud that it felt like the roof would collapse. He addressed the fans and said that he was not sure if he was ever going to come back, but the fans made it possible.

Following the mega return, AEW made an announcement via their Twitter handle. It stated that Punk would appear on next week’s Dynamite in Milwaukee.

The fans are overwhelmed to see CM Punk on AEW Rampage

The fans on the internet are still buzzing over the fact that ‘The Best in the World’ will lace his boots again after having such a sour taste when he left WWE back in 2014.

The crowd in attendance literally had tears in their eyes when Punk made his entrance; even Punk had tears in his eyes.

Even the retired MMA professional, Daniel Cormier, tuned in to TNT to watch tonight’s AEW Rampage, to witness this historic moment in modern-day wrestling.

The former UFC Heavyweight & Light Heavyweight Champ immediately took to Twitter when Punk made his way out.

Punk was not the only one who took shots at the biggest promotion of the professional wrestling industry (WWE); even the fans chipped in.

A fan held a sign saying, “We wish WWE well in their future endeavors.”

For now, it looks like Punk has his sight set on Darby Allin, as he issued a challenge to Allin for the AEW: Fall Out PPV. Punk said that nothing is more than facing him in Chicago.

However, Allin will have Sting, who will not hesitate to go after Punk. Eventually, Punk clarified that he is not here part-time, but he will be involved at every PPV and taping.
