Guess who’s back? It’s Cody Rhodes! The AEW pro-wrestler returned on AEW Dynamite to confront Malakai Black, with a little help from Rosario Dawson.

It so happened that Malakai Black appeared midway through the show to reveal that there was a traitor in the mix. The camera panned to Rosario Dawson, who was seen wearing a Nightmare Family Jacket. Black stepped ringside to confront Dawson, and this prompted Cody Rhodes to appear.
However, Dawson jumped Malakai Black to give Rhodes the chance to reach ringside. Following that, ‘The American Nightmare’ and Black brutally attacked each other as they went up the stairs among the crowd.
Both fighters threw various punches and kicks and went all out on each other. Therefore, even though there wasn’t a significant winner to the bout, this could definitely be the beginning of something new.
Now that Rhodes is back, it could possibly mean that Black and Rhodes will pick up from where they left off. However, it wasn’t the best place possible for Rhodes, as their last segment had put him out of the ring for a while.

In the last segment, before Rhodes took a break from the ring, Black and Rhodes had a fight where Black emerged victorious.
Following that, Rhodes gave a speech and took off his boots. This is a classic sign of retirement as one ‘hangs the boots’. During this segment, Black appeared with a crutch and attacked Rhodes.

It was quite brutal and sparked a reaction from Rhodes’ wife, Brandi Rhodes.
Coming to his break, it’s possible that Rhodes took a break from the ring to shoot for his new series along with his wife. It gives the fans an insight into the life of The Rhodes, building a family and the AEW community at the same time.
Coming back to Rhodes’ return, it possibly means that ‘The American Nightmare’ has come back to take on others. Moreover, there are others on the AEW roster with whom Cody Rhodes could build a brilliant feud.
