On Twitter, Ryback posted a bunch of polls for his ‘fans’ to decide whether they wanted him to return. Eighty percent of the times, fans voted for the former Intercontinental Champion to retire. No one wanted to see him return to the ring, but this didn’t sit well with him.

Prior to the Casino Battle Royal at AEW Double or Nothing, Ryback posted a tweet asking fans to pop for him upon entering the match. He probably had people thinking he drew the Joker card for the match, but we got a great surprise.

Instead of Ryback, we saw former NXT Cruiserweight Champion and independent wrestling stalwart Lio Rush. Fans popped for Lio Rush quite loudly, and we’re afraid that wouldn’t have been the case for Ryback.

Lio Rush debuts at AEW Double or Nothing

Former NXT Cruiserweight Champion and Bobby Lashley’s former manager Lio Rush made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing. He entered the Casino Battle Royal as the Joker card and went on an absolute roll. Unfortunately, his run in the match ended quicker than we would’ve liked.

Rush met his fate at the hands of Matt Hardy and Private Party, who spoiled many wrestlers’ night in the battle royal. However, this opens up the opportunity for the former WWE Superstar’s first feud in AEW. Wrestling a veteran and former Cruiserweight Champion like Matt Hardy would do a world of good for him.

At the end of the match, Christian Cage eliminated Matt Hardy after teasing an alliance but met his fate at Jungle Boy’s hands. The youngster has been very impressive and gets an opportunity to challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship.
