

After weeks of speculation, Thunder Rosa is now officially ‘All Elite’. AEW announced the former NWA Women’s Champion’s inclusion into the roster on Thursday, under some interesting circumstances.

Rosa first arrived in AEW last August as the NWA Women’s Champion. Looking to capture the AEW Women’s Championship, she challenged then-champion Hikaru Shida at All Out pay-per-view 2020.

Although “La Mera Mera” did not win the title, she kept appearing on AEW with NWA title matches women from both AEW and NWA. Eventually, Serena Deeb won the NWA title.

A few months ago, Rosa and current-AEW Women’s Champion Dr. Britt Baker DMD were a part of AEW’s first-ever Women-centred main event. Rosa defeated Baker in a brutal lights-out match. She defeated KiLynn King in this week’s AEW Dark episode.

Last week, Rosa appeared at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiverasry PPV to challenge Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo. She failed to capture the title.

All this while, she was an official member of the NWA roster. Her last match was a Tag Team match on July 6 at NWA Powerrr. She will also be featured in the upcoming all-women PPV NWA Empowerrr. See the official AEW tweet below –

Thunder Rosa reacts to her signing with AEW
Now that she is officially a member of the roster after the news broke out, Rosa responded to fans. She deemed the signing as “one of the biggest accomplishments” of her life.
Rosa wrote, “Never in my life doubt that I would be where I want to be! Today one of the biggest accomplishments in my career has been announced! #lameramera Is FINALLY WHERE SHE BELONGS.”

According to reports, AEW bought out Rosa’s NWA contract. Ahead of this, Rosa was happy about her ‘free agency’ starting from next year. She asked for her NWA release last year but was rejected.

Rosa will have a lot on her plate at AEW. The roster is buzzing with talent at this moment and she can obviously reignite her feud with Britt Baker and challenge her for the title.

From a company perspective, AEW is on a high stride. Yesterday, AEW officially signed a deal with WWE icon Daniel Bryan and the talks of hiring CM Punk are also going on at the same time.
