After weeks of speculation, Thunder Rosa is now officially ‘All Elite’. AEW announced the former NWA Women’s Champion’s inclusion into the roster on Thursday, under some interesting circumstances.

Rosa first arrived in AEW last August as the NWA Women’s Champion. Looking to capture the AEW Women’s Championship, she challenged then-champion Hikaru Shida at All Out pay-per-view 2020.

Although “La Mera Mera” did not win the title, she kept appearing on AEW with NWA title matches women from both AEW and NWA. Eventually, Serena Deeb won the NWA title.

A few months ago, Rosa and current-AEW Women’s Champion Dr. Britt Baker DMD were a part of AEW’s first-ever Women-centred main event. Rosa defeated Baker in a brutal lights-out match. She defeated KiLynn King in this week’s AEW Dark episode.

Last week, Rosa appeared at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiverasry PPV to challenge Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo. She failed to capture the title.

All this while, she was an official member of the NWA roster. Her last match was a Tag Team match on July 6 at NWA Powerrr. She will also be featured in the upcoming all-women PPV NWA Empowerrr. See the official AEW tweet below –

Rosa will have a lot on her plate at AEW. The roster is buzzing with talent at this moment and she can obviously reignite her feud with Britt Baker and challenge her for the title.

From a company perspective, AEW is on a high stride. Yesterday, AEW officially signed a deal with WWE icon Daniel Bryan and the talks of hiring CM Punk are also going on at the same time.
