Tony Khan Officially Signs US Navy Veteran ‘Captain’ Shawn Dean to AEW

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has transformed the professional wrestling scene in a brief time. Not only have they forged strong partnerships, but they have also signed some top names to their roster. In fact, AEW’s roster has a decent mix of top names, veterans, indy stars, and even newcomers!

Now, after the recent addition of Paul Wight and Jade Cargill, the AEW President has welcomed a real-life hero to their roster.

Tony Khan signs US Navy Veteran Shawn Dean to AEW contract

AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter last night to announce another signing to the roster. Tony wrote a long tweet and put over Shawn big time. He thanked him for his selfless service to the nation and revealed how honored he was to welcome ‘Captain’ Shawn Dean to the roster.

Capt. Shawn Dean also responded to the news, and the excitement was pretty evident. Dean cited he’s put a lot of hard work to achieve this and thanked Tony Khan and his family.

The US Navy Veteran expressed his emotions much more freely on Instagram. He detailed how he had to give up on a lot to reach where he is today. He added he knew the hard work would pay off before signing off the post with thanking friends, family, and of course, Tony ‘The Forbidden Door’ Khan.

Who is ‘Captain’ Shawn Dean?

For those who don’t know, Capt. Shawn Dean is a United States Navy Veteran. He has served the country and has given it his all during his time in the Navy. Now, Capt. Shawn has branched into professional wrestling.

Capt. Shawn Dean made his AEW debut in March last year and has been a staple of AEW Dark alongside Carlie Bravo. The duo is known as The Infantry in AEW. He started his pro wrestling career recently but is a promising talent already. Plus, he has trained under AR Fox and AEW’s own, QT Marshall.

As of now, AEW has only announced the signing of ‘Captain’ Shawn Dean. His partner, Carlie Bravo, a graduate of Cody Rhodes‘ Nightmare Factory, is yet to get signed officially.

It’s really exciting to see AEW branching out and bringing fresh, homegrown talent. It’s always great to see a new star being born, and we’ll have to wait to find out if ‘Captain’ Shawn Dean becomes the new shining star or not.
