Sammy’s matches are known for being spotfests, but inside the steel cage, he needed only one spectacular move to stamp his name on the match.

Ortiz hung Shawn Spears in the Tree of Woe position and held a steel chair against his face. Guevara climbed the opposite turnbuckle and nailed a terrifying Coast-to-Coast.

The steel chair rattled off the Chairman’s head, and somewhere, Rob Van Dam smiled at his television. Sammy might’ve just hit the cleanest Coast-to-Coast of all time, and no, we’re not looking at you either, Shane McMahon.

Unfortunately, Guevara’s risk wouldn’t pay off as he surrendered to save his friend from having his career ended. As MJF held a blood-soaked Chris Jericho from the roof of the cage, Guevara surrendered on behalf of the Inner Circle to save Jericho. MJF, being the hateable heel he is, tossed Jericho from the cage onto the ramp.

When the Pinnacle debuted and destroyed Chris Jericho, Y2J shocked the world by returning within two weeks and beating up MJF. Although it seemed premature, it was the most sought return of the year. However, it doesn’t look like Jericho will return within two weeks after Blood and Guts.

Jericho needs some time off to heal from his injuries, kayfabe or otherwise. The inaugural AEW World Champion needs to make room for other members of the AEW roster to shine. By putting MJF and the Pinnacle over, he’s done the job of creating AEW’s next big faction.

His return date is uncertain, but whenever he returns, it’ll be with pomp. As for now, AEW belongs to the Salt of the Earth and his band of savages who are at the ‘pinnacle’ of AEW.
