Mike Tyson made his shocking return to AEW on last night’s episode (4/7/21). This was the boxing legend’s first appearance since last year’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
Following the PPV, Tyson, alongside former UFC champions Henry Cejudo, Rashad Evans, and Vitor Belfort, faced off against Chris Jericho and Inner Circle. But this time, Tyson came out to “save” Chris Jericho.
Earlier in the night, Jericho announced that there will be a first-ever “blood and guts” match between his Inner Circle and MJF‘s Pinnacle on the May 5th episode of AEW. A while later, the Pinnacle attacked Jericho.

Tyson came out to save Jericho and threw some huge punches at Shawn Spears. After Pinnacle rescued Spears and left the ring, Tyson and Jericho shook hands, leaving their past animosities behind.
Mike Tyson gets a theme song!
AEW always puts emphasis on their superstars, even the guest ones. The 54-Year-Old also got his own theme song ahead of AEW debut. His theme is called, “I’m Back” and it features artist Doe the Paperboy.

The entrance themes are used to distinguish between major superstars. Whenever someone’s music hits, the crowd gets ready for some action.
Sometimes the theme gets as iconic as the wrestler, like the glass shattering of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, the ominous Gong of The Undertaker, or the “you think you know me” of Edge to name a few. As of now, we don’t know if Tyson’s theme will also become as iconic as the other Hall of Famers.
Next week, Tyson will act as the special ringside enforcer of the match between Dax Harwood (with Cash Wheeler) and Chris Jericho (with Sammy Guevara). AEW banned the rest of the Inner Circle and Pinnacle members from the ringside.

Coming back to the “blood and guts” match, it will be the first of its kind, in AEW at least. The brand originally planned the match for last May, but it got delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether or not Tyson will be a part of the match is yet to be disclosed.
