Kenny Omega confirmed this match a couple of weeks ago along with Don Callis. Andrade threw out the challenge upon his WWE release, and the match is now official. We will see the Best Bout Machine go up against one of the best wrestlers WWE let go.

This match obviously fuels speculation towards whether we’ll see Andrade in AEW. With the match three months away and Omega booked up with AEW and IMPACT dates, we should see this storyline build up on AEW Dynamite. Like KENTA, who showed up at Beach Break to attack Jon Moxley, we could see a similar attack at Double or Nothing.

After being released, Andrade headed straight to his old roots in Mexico and did not consider coming to AEW. Although his future would’ve been brighter and he’d be near his fiance Charlotte Flair, the former NXT Champion returned to Mexico. And we cannot blame him, especially since he’s been vastly more successful in promotions outside America and WWE.

Like Kenny Omega, Andrade competed in NJPW and even held the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. He beat current WWE superstar and New Japan legend Shunsuke Nakamura for the belt, a feat Omega never achieved.

While the signs don’t point towards an attack at Double or Nothing, seeing Andrade in an AEW ring would make Vince McMahon’s blood boil. Apart from that, it would be the perfect beginning to what could be the best match of 2021.

Could we see his IMPACT rival show up at Double or Nothing?

Andrade isn’t the only person Kenny Omega has to look forward to. Before he even gets to Triplemania, he risks losing his IMPACT World Championship to a furious man. Recently, Moose emerged victorious in a fatal six-pack challenge at IMPACT’s Under Siege PPV.
Moose is livid with Omega holding his company’s main title and remains hell bent on taking it from him. As for Omega, he will be the underdog in this tremendous fight that’ll take place at Against All Odds on June 12th.
If not Andrade, can we see Moose lay waste to the AEW World Champion? He’s the favorite to emerge victorious this Sunday, making an attack form a future opponent more likely.
