WWE Legend Booker T Praises Student Sammy Guevara for AEW Success

Former WWE King of the Ring and Hall of Famer, Booker T, runs his own wrestling school in Texas. In fact, he has trained some truly wonderful wrestlers who are now part of mainstream wrestling in North America. One of them is AEW’s Sammy Guevara.

Alongside a podcast, part-time commentary and wrestling analyst, Booker T, has used his wrestling experience to open a school. The Reality of Wrestling is not just a podcast but a foundation for young wrestlers to launch their careers into the mainstream. One of those success stories is Sammy Guevara’s.

Born in Houston, Texas, Guevara received his primary training in the industry from the former World Champion. He is one of the school’s many distinguished alumni, alongside Ember Moon, Kylie Rae and current NXT talent, Zayda Ramier.

On Twitter, Booker T praised his former student for his current success in AEW. Sammy is quickly becoming one of the best wrestlers in the world, and AEW is pushing him to the top. Although he began his run in AEW as a heel, he’s now a full-fledged babyface alongside Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle.

His last big win came at Double or Nothing, where he pinned Shawn Spears to win the Stadium Stampede match. He survived a ton of offence from Spears, including two vicious chair shots, to the sternum and then the face. He hit a stunning 630 splash from the top rope to pick up a huge win.

Which WWE Superstars own wrestling schools?

Aside from Booker T, many wrestlers and WWE Superstars have begun their own wrestling schools. In these institutions, they impart training that will aid young talent in achieving the maximum success in a wrestling promotion. They also serve as a market for promotions to pick up young wrestlers.

Former World Champion Daniel Bryan and Brian Kendrick trained at Shawn Michaels’ wrestling school in Texas. HBK founded the Texas Wrestling Academy after he suffered a career threatening back injury that kept him out of action for four years.

Current WWE Superstar Seth Rollins founded the Black and Brave Academy in Moline, Illinois.

Cody Rhodes founded the Nightmare Factory after AEW’s initial success. His brother Dustin, QT Marshall, Dean Malenko and now Mark Henry are coaches at the school. Another famous wrestling school run by a wrestler Heath Slater is called the Face to Face Wrestling School.
