Born in Houston, Texas, Guevara received his primary training in the industry from the former World Champion. He is one of the school’s many distinguished alumni, alongside Ember Moon, Kylie Rae and current NXT talent, Zayda Ramier.

On Twitter, Booker T praised his former student for his current success in AEW. Sammy is quickly becoming one of the best wrestlers in the world, and AEW is pushing him to the top. Although he began his run in AEW as a heel, he’s now a full-fledged babyface alongside Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle.

His last big win came at Double or Nothing, where he pinned Shawn Spears to win the Stadium Stampede match. He survived a ton of offence from Spears, including two vicious chair shots, to the sternum and then the face. He hit a stunning 630 splash from the top rope to pick up a huge win.

Aside from Booker T, many wrestlers and WWE Superstars have begun their own wrestling schools. In these institutions, they impart training that will aid young talent in achieving the maximum success in a wrestling promotion. They also serve as a market for promotions to pick up young wrestlers.
