Observer first released back in 2017 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is a psychological horror game that follows protagonist Daniel Lazarski, a detective capable of hacking minds as a form of interrogation.

The reception of the game was particularly good, and fans immediately started expecting a sequel. On January 23, 2020, the studio supposedly teased Observer 2 with a cryptic message on Twitter. That was all fans heard from the studio about a probable sequel.

While the cyberpunk vibe is a direct Observer giveaway, an observant Twitter handle figured out the flashing binary on the screen. It said, “Daniel, are you there?”

Bloober Team even replied to this comment, confirming that an Observer 2 game was in the charts.

Devs speak on Observer 2 after The Medium on Xbox Series X/S

In an exclusive interview with VG24/7, the devs hinted towards an Observer 2 possibility.

We never know. It’s always like, okay, so what will be next? Maybe Observer 2 or maybe… we are always wondering. So we are not closing any doors, but right now we can only say that there will be darkness behind those doors.”

Furthermore, The Medium is the studio’s most ambitious work to date. It is also an Xbox exclusive but will release on PC, side by side. When asked about a possible PS5 release, just like Blair Witch, the studio did not give any positive signs.
