There is a long-time debate going on about the better player between Virat Kohli and Steve Smith. Once again Pakistan batsman Ahmad Shahzad talked about that after the recently concluded ODI series in India. India registered a convincing 2-1 series win against Australia.

Both Kohli and Smith have been dominating the cricketing world with their phenomenal batting across the formats since long. While the flamboyant right-hander captain Kohli continued to lead from the front, former Australia captain has made a stunning return after his one-year ball-tampering scandal. With his superb comeback, once again set the debate on fire over.

Steve Smith had a remarkable Ashes series in 2019. He finished as the leading run-scorer despite missing three innings due to concussion and reclaimed his number one Test rank from Virat Kohli. However, the Indian captain did not lose his No.1 Test spot to Australia’s star batsman.

The race became more interesting as in the recently concluded three-match ODI series. Kohli scored knocks of 78 and 89 while Smith amassed 98 and 131 respectively. In the ongoing debate of who is better between Kohli and Smith, Shahzad has also expressed his thoughts although in a different view as well.

In a recent interview with Cricket Pakistan, Ahmad Shehzad has answered a total of ten questions. One of them was to choose the best between Smith and Kohli. The right-hand batsman came up with a nice reply, citing the Australia batsman is a better Test player than Indian captain, while he chose Kohli over Smith as the better batsman in the limited-overs game.
