Alexander Zverev Gives an Update on Eye Surgery

Germany’s top-ranked tennis player Alexander Zverev underwent eye surgery in New York earlier this month. Following that he updated about his well being on social media. He stated that everything was fine and the surgery came across no complications. Sascha would soon resume his tennis training.

“Everything went very well, I am feeling very good about it. Everything went according to plan,” the 22-year-old German Zverev announced on social media. I am on recovery mode right now. This is a message to all of you guys not to worry. I am totally fine. I am doing well and I will start practicing very soon. I hope to see you all in Australia!”

During the ATP World Tour Finals 2019, Alexander Zverev stated that he had problems playing with contacts. It was necessary for him to undergo eye treatment. “I’ve had problems with my eyes and have had many problems with contact lenses this year,” he stated in London last month. 

Sascha Zverev underwent laser surgery to correct astigmatism in his eyes. Astigmatism a common imperfection in eyes curvature, which usually causes vision to be blurred or distorted to some degree at all distances.

After ATP Finals 2019 Alexander Zverev was part of Roger Federer‘s Latin America and played a series of exhibition matches in South America.

World Number seven Zverev will be next seen at the ATP Cup in Australia where he will be playing alongside his compatriot Jan-Lennard Struff. Then he will fly to Melbourne for the Australian Open 2020.

This year Zverev won a title at Geneva Open and was the finalist at Rolex Shanghai Masters. In London he couldn’t defend his ATP Finals title as he surrendered to Dominic Thiem in the semifinals.
