German star Alexander Zverev has joined the bandwagon of stars who’ve vowed to join the fight against the Australian bushfires.
Zverev has committed to donating $10000 for every victory that he picks up. In fact, he also said that if he manages to win the slam, he’ll donate the entire prize money worth $4.12 million.

What Did Alexander Zverev Say?
Zverev did not have a very tough day at the court as he managed a straight-sets victory against the Italian Marco Cecchinato on Margaret Court Arena.

Following the match, Zverev stated that he was touched by the massive devastation caused by the bushfires. He also announced his support for the same.
“I will donate $10000 for every match I win.”
A humble Zverev admitted that he knew he wasn’t the favourite to claim the title before announcing his intention to donate his prize money.
“I know I’m not the favourite, but if I win(the tournament) I will donate every cent to the bushfires.”
Zverev has joined the list of stars who are committing to the cause. The ever expanding list includes big names like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios.
Recently, the ‘Rally for Relief’ fundraiser event was organized by Tennis Australia to help the victims of the Australian bushfires. Zverev was also part of the star studded list of the event that featured the who’s who of tennis.

Meanwhile, Zverev earned a straight sets victory in his first round contest at the Australian Open.
The German star was nimble around the court with the precision of his serve proving decisive. Interestingly, his unforced errors including abysmal double faults had been the primary reason behind his shameful demise at the ATP cup.
