Alexander Zverev Rubbishes Claims About ‘Big Three’

Alexander Zverev denounced that he did not say anything about the ‘Big Three’ which has been all over the internet. The German star took to the social media, criticizing those who are making fake news with his name.

Zverev was condemned by millions of tennis fans around the world for claiming that the NextGens were on the verge of taking over the ‘Big 3’ and break their Grand Slam streak but the halt due to the coronavirus has broken their momentum.

“Without this crisis, I think that the Next Gen would have taken over the Big 3. The break is more of an advantage for the older ones. They have more experience and know exactly what they have to do. They will be fresher after the break,” Zverev was quoted saying in an interview to Sports Bild.

However, he clarified on social media that he did not make any of those claims. “Never said that but keep making up stuff guys,” Zverev wrote in his Instagram story.

The tennis tour has been paused since the beginning of March for an indefinite period due to the outbreak of coronavirus. The World No.7 will be eager to resume the tour after the coronavirus subsides. He certainly aims to take over the ‘Big 3’ – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic and claim his maiden Grand Slam title.
