World Number three tennis player, Elina Svitolina was knocked down by the unseeded professional, Alison Riske in the quarterfinals of the Wuhan Open 2019. She defeated the Ukarianian star, 6-1, 6-3 and reached the semifinals of the Chinese event. Riske will set up her last four-round clash against the two-time Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova.

It was an easy opening set for the American tennis player, Alison Riske. Elina Svitolina lacked her dominance on her service and that benefitted the American. She steamrolled over the World Number three as her unforced errors persisted.

Alison Riske has been having a thriving season on the WTA Tour. This year she reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon 2019 and lost to Serena Williams in three sets. In the Netherlands this year, she defeated the home favorite, Kiki Bertens and then lifted up the title in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
