Allyson Felix Reveals How Her Sneakers Can Compete With Nike and Other Big Brands

Allyson Felix was upheld for her bravery and courage this year, and more so, for her performance in Tokyo. The athlete’s never-give-up attitude is an inspiration for many. Acing one too many roles with ease, Felix is a successful athlete, an upcoming entrepreneur, and a loving mother as well.

Felix is an 11-time Olympic medalist who broke off her 7-year-old agreement with the popular brand, Nike. Overcoming several difficulties, the star established her own shoe and lifestyle brand, Saysh. Notably, the brand focuses on the needs of female athletes and mothers in particular.

Recently, the athlete opened up on what she thinks about competing against big athletic brands in the market.

Going against Nike and launching Saysh

Earlier Felix ended her partnership with Nike, after receiving a pay cut because of her pregnancy. Undoubtedly, her decision to fly solo, not only encouraged other female athletes but the whole of womanhood. The athlete felt the need for a woman-centric brand and launched her company, Saysh, a brand ‘for and by women.’

When speaking about her competition in the market, Felix said, “I don’t really even think about going up against them. It’s creating a new lane, creating for women, being community-centered.”

“Yes, our first product is the lifestyle sneaker. But we’re very much about our collective and bringing women together. It’s a place where, yes, you can come and buy shoes, but where you can also come for workouts and conversations motherhood and the workplace,” she added.

Introducing her brand and raising her voice against the wrong, Felix made way for a much-needed change.

Exposing Nike- Fans supported Allyson Felix

Standing up for the right is not the easiest thing to do. However, when Felix found it difficult to accept the discrimination she faced from Nike, she ended her partnership with them.

The track and field athlete was unsure about raising her voice initially. But regardless, she overcame her fears and did what she felt was needed. Rightfully so, she received immense support worldwide for taking a stand against the unjust.

“I wasn’t sure if I would be supported or if people would be critical of it. In one sense, it was amazing to have that support,” said Felix.
