Ahead of the much-anticipated octagon return of Conor McGregor, there is one thing that is being talked about the most, the new physique of the Notorious One. Recently, Conor posted the look of his new bulked-up physique and the MMA community started speculating how this may affect the outcome of his fight against Donald Cerrone. Well, leaving that to discuss later let’s look back at all the physiques of Conor McGregor before some of his crucial fights at different weight classes.

Well, Conor McGregor had one of his most impressive victories when he squared off against the long-reigning king of the featherweight division, Jose Aldo. Conor made history by knocking him out in 13 seconds. However, he never looked more terrible on a scale. Conor looked ripped to the grills when he hit the scale for the official weigh-in. Even during the ceremonial weigh-in, Conor did not look at his best either.

Though he had fought and won in the lightweight division before in different organizations he never did it in UFC since the fight against Eddie. Conor looked like a world killer on the scale and he looked invincible in the fight night.

The rivalry between Conor and Nate erupted like a volcano and the fight was made on short notice. It was the first time Conor was fighting at welterweight and it’s needless to say that he had a disadvantage going into that fight against Diaz who is a much bigger frame.

For the rematch, Conor had adequate time to adjust to the new weight class and he looked in a much better shape compared to the first fight with Nate Diaz. Though Conor McGregor is arguably the best fighter in the early rounds he tends to slow down in the later rounds. However, he went 5 hard rounds against Diaz who has unbelievable cardio and pace. it would be intriguing to see whether Conor can do it again if he needs to against Donald Cerrone.

Conor became the two-division champion, fought Floyd Mayweather, and took some time out from the sports. Well, he took 2 years off to be exact. Hence it was expected that the fans won’t see the same Conor when he faces the biggest rival of his career, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Though ring rust seemed to be an issue in the fight, Conor did not look like he does not belong in the octagon. He was up against arguably the greatest fighter ever and he did put a valiant effort by becoming the first fighter who won a round against the Russian phenom. But, Conor looked bulked up for that fight too. He never looked more fuller in lightweight before his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Now coming to the next clash, Conor returns to the welterweight division for a showdown with Cowboy. Yes, Conor looks bigger and fuller for this fight. But there should arise a question, why is Conor getting bigger if he wants to turn things around quickly for a lightweight title fight? The weight cut is not going to be easy for him when he drops down to the lightweight division. So has he bulked up or is it some illusion as we saw with Andy Ruiz jr before his clash against Anthony Joshua the second time.

Nevertheless, Conor looks like a beast ahead of his return at UFC 246. However, he is still likely to be the smaller guy against Donald Cerrone. But whether he is going to finish the fight early with the power boost he will have by moving up is the question that will be answered in UFC 246.
