Former World No. 1, Andy Murray is confident to return at the highest level in singles as he continues his comeback with a positive display in doubles.

Andy Murray, whose return to the tennis court seemed impossible six months ago, feels that he can still beat Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.

The British returned to the Queen’s Championships after his hip surgery in January following the Australian Open. The 32-year-old had said ahead of the Australian Open 2019 that he was suffering from immense pain and his career was most likely over.

“I know how bad I felt in Australia and how bad I felt the last year that I played singles here, and I feel better now than I did then,” Andy Murray said as quoted by The Times on Monday.

The 3-time grand slam champion suggested that he is just struggling physically and his game is still up to the mark. He said, “If, physically, I can get back to a good level my tennis is still fine. I’m sure that, tennis-wise, I will be able to keep up with guys.”

He further added, “I don’t feel that the game has moved on and I won’t be able to get back. A lot of the same guys are still there.”

Andy Murray then said that he doesn’t have a reason, why he cannot compete again at the top and if there is, he would certainly like to listen to it He continued, “If someone can give me a reason why I shouldn’t be able to compete again, then I would listen to it, but so far I haven’t really been given one.”

Andy Murray is currently playing the mixed doubles event at the Wimbledon Championships after he conquered the doubles title at the Fiver-Tree Championships.

“I don’t care which court we play on,” Murray said ahead of his match on Tuesday. “I’m happy to play on whatever court, 14 or 18 doesn’t bother me.”

He added, “Sometimes doubles do get pushed back and it’s not always the first event on the schedule, so you have to expect that to happen.”
