Andy Murray and Serena Williams End Their Dream Team Venture at Wimbledon Championships 2019

The second Wednesday at Wimbledon has been packed with some big matches on the elite courts of SW19. With Novak Djokovic advancing into the last square, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are battling against their opponents to set up their semifinal showdown. Besides the Big Three’s matches today the Court Number two packed for the tennis action of the former Wimbledon champions, Andy Murray and Serena Williams.

The team of 26 Grand Slams, ‘Murrena’ were knocked out by the top seeds, Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar 3-6, 6-4, 2-6 in the pre-quarterfinals of Wimbledon Championships 2019. With this, the Brit, Murray’s journey at Wimbledon Championships 2019 concludes and tomorrow Serena has a big match of career, where she will play Barbora Strycova int.

After winning straight set matches in their previous rounds, they dealt with a first set loss in their third match. The set was at par with both the teams, but Melichar was serving at 3-3. Soares came up with a few volleys and which saved them from going a breakdown and they survived their service game by holding at 4-3. Andy Murray and Serena Williams went a break down at 5-3, as the reply to Soares’ backhand return landed wide outside and the top seeds held the set.

Murray and Williams could push the match to the decider as they sealed the second set.  They converted the set winning break in the last game, where they had three set point opportunities. Soares commits a double fault and SerAndy kept the hopes alive.

The decider seemed to be one-sided, with Soares and Melichar taking a 4-0 lead. Murray came up on the net and bagged a game in the set. Serena could take the next game on her serve, but they couldn’t outperform the dominance of the top seeds.
