As Britain hosts France this friday in the Davis Cup tie at London’s Queen’s Club, the English team’s star Andy Murray is trying to recover from his Wimbledon defeat to Roger Federer. The Scot admitted that he was still trying to get over the disappointment. Britain will be trying to make the last four for the first time since 1981.

“I’ve still thought about it most days,” he said. “The guy served at over 80 per cent in the first and third sets. That won’t happen to me the rest of the year, I know that.”

“I’m also trying to learn from the match as well. When you walk off the court and then the next day, you don’t immediately learn stuff from the match. You have to look at the match and analyse it a bit, and look at the tournament as a whole, and think about those things and see what I can do better in the future. It doesn’t take one day.” added the world number three.

Murray lost his semi-final in straight sets to the 7-time champion and eventually the runner-up Roger Federer. “A lot of preparation goes into those events and you need to take the time when you are finished to analyse what’s gone right and wrong, and the things you can do to improve.” said the 2012 US Open Champion.

“I had to take some days off to have a chance to compete well here. Obviously I would have ideally started practising on Monday. But I needed a few days after the last few months. It’s a very busy time of year.”

Murray will be up against the challenge of leading his team against a strong French contingent that includes Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the Wimbledon semifinalist Richard Gasquet, Gilles Simon and Gael Monfils.
