Many players from around the world have arrived for the 2020 US Open which is starting on August 31. Some have decided to stay in the hotel while some have decided to stay privately. British star Andy Murray was amongst those who opted for the hotel.

Andy Murray On His Staying Arrangements

One of the players who decided to stay privately in New York was Serena Williams. In a recent interview, Andy Murray was asked about why he did not do the same. He replied, “I spoke about it but the costs were astronomical. I went for the bubble and it’s nice. They have done a good job at the hotel. There are games and arcades which I enjoy, I am still a bit of a child in that respect.”

The British star also went to speak about the COVID-19 protocols. He spoke about he once forgot to wear a mask after practicing but someone reminded him to do so. Murray seems to have been quite happy with this since it felt like there were people who cared that protocol was being followed.

Currently, the British star is playing the Cincinnati Open and is off to a great start. He beat NextGen player Frances Tiafoe in three sets. Fans were particularly happy about this since he hasn’t played a lot of tennis over the past few years.

Due to a hip injury back in 2017, Murray was sidelined from the Tour for the next couple of years. He even thought about retiring from the sport but didn’t go ahead with his decision. Last year, he made a mini-return to singles’ tennis, and now, he is back at the Cincinnati Open.
