Andy Murray, who was sidelined with a hip injury, will return to face Roger Federer, in Glasgow. The pair will meet to play at a charity event, in front of a full house this Tuesday. Murray will also team up with his brother Jamie to take on Tim Henman and Mansour Bahrami. They will be participating in an exhibition doubles match. Andy Murray has not played since his quarterfinal loss in Wimbledon back in July. It will be the first opportunity for his fans to see how he has been shaping up so far.

Murray has slipped in the singles rankings to 16, his lowest since the May of 2008. This will officially be his longest break since he began his career. Andy’s new coach Jamie Delgado, posted a few videos of Murray practicing. But it will be clear how well he has recovered come Tuesday. Murray will return in January for the Brisbane Open. It will be his first tournament before the Australian Open.

The duo played in a charity event some time ago, in Zurich. Federer has never visited Scotland and is also thrilled to be playing there for the first time. Murray said “Last year was such a fantastic night and to raise over £300,000 for Unicef and Young People’s Futures in our first year was amazing”.

“This year is going to be even bigger and better. I am so pleased to be able to bring Roger to play in Scotland for the first time. He will get a chance to see for himself just how enthusiastic Scottish fans are, and what a great venue The SSE Hydro is.

“It is also important for me to be able support Unicef again this year, and to help a different local charity as well.”

Federer will play his next competitive match in London, at the Nitto ATP world tour finals.
