Angelique Kerber To Go Without Coach

A few days ago, the German champion, Angelique Kerber announced about her split with her coach, Rainer Schuttler and now she decides to go coach-less on the WTA Tour. She will be spending some time to appoint the right coach in her team. For the last Grand Slam of the year, the US Open 2019, Kerber will probably turn up at Flushing Meadows without a coach. 

“I will take the time to look for a real coach, and I need this time,” Kerber said at a sponsorship event in Munich. “I know what it’s all about, I’ve been a part of it for a long time,” said the three-time Grand Slam champion for the temporary waiver of a supervisor. It did not go the way we did, as I imagined. It is important to find myself first, everything starts with me.”

Besides that, Kerber plans to continue her venture with her other team members, who are presently there in her team.

Angelique Kerber stepped into the courts of  Wimbledon Championships 2019 as the defending champion, and her second-round loss to the lucky loser, Lauren Davis, forced the German number one, Kerber to sack her coach, Schuttler.

Last year, after her Wimbledon victory, Angelique Kerber parted ways with her coach, Wim Fissette in the month of October. At WTA Finals in 2018, Kerber played without a coach, but she was supported by her hitting partner Andre Wiesler.

Over there, she played a few exhilarating matches which include her win over the reigning US Open champion, Naomi Osaka. With those match-wins,  Angelique Kerber breezed into the semifinals of WTA Finals.

Later in the last four round, she lost to Sloane Stephens in straight sets and then hired her coach Rainer Schuttler. Kerber has some amount of experience to execute tennis on professional courts without the guidance of a coach, and her last year’s WTA Finals performance might aid her to an extent for the upcoming few weeks in tennis, as she decides to play without a coach.

Under the guidance of Schuttler, World Number 13, Angelique Kerber made it to her first-ever finals at Premier Mandatory event in Indian Wells and over there she lost to the wildcard entrant, Bianca Andresscu in the title match.
