Nothing gets bigger than a summer update; at least for Animal Crossing: New Horizons this time. The new summer update will allow players to swim donning wetsuits. The island will have newer creatures underwater that players can catch, and trade if needed.

Animal Crossing – Sea Creatures

There are 40 sea creatures you can catch in total. The new creatures are categorized as “Sea Creatures” in the Critterpedia. If you happen to capture a creature, you can donate it to the museum by handing it over to Blathers.

To find the sea creatures you’ll need to dive underwater. As mentioned earlier, you do need a wetsuit for that, which is available for purchase in the cabinet.

The wetsuits are available for 3000 Bells. You can also use the Nook Miles to pay for them. Once you have the suit you just need to run up to the water and Press A to enter and to dive press Y.

Once you reach underwater, look for bubble columns or shadows. The shadows could be in motion, so players will have to chase or follow to capture the creature.

Now, a bigger bubble column or a bigger shadow hints at a bigger creature. The size varies according to the size of the creatures.

Different creatures will fetch you different prices. But, if you are looking for the big ones, keep an eye out for the Gigas Giant Clam, Giant Isopod, Red King Crab, Vampire Squid, and Sea Pig.

How to find Pascal?

Once underwater, players might come across pearls and scallops. When you do find scallops, Pascal appears. You can then trade the scallop with Pascal for a mermaid-themed DYI recipe.

Pascal might pop up on other occasions too. As of now, he might only appear when you find a scallop. There is also a chance for Pascal gifting you pearls, in addition to the ones you may find while underwater.

Scallops can be donated to the museum or even be sold to Nook Cranny’s. Selling them will fetch you 1,200 Bells.

If you are likely to encounter Pascal more in the game, it is better to save the scallops. They might end up being the most useful resource of the update.
