Ever since the release of the 2.0 update, every Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ player has turned its attention towards the game once again to try some of the new features. This includes the new paid DLC in Happy Home Paradise, and the addition of characters like Brewster and his iconic cafe in the Roost.
However, not a lot of fans know about the new update for the game’s smartphone companion app in the NookLink. Along with some minor improvements, the app has a brand new feature which fans might want to check out at all times for optimal turnip trading.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Smartphone app has a new Island Newspaper feature
Most Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have access to the NookLink smartphone app. However, those who don’t know much about this companion app, they can find it on the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app. With the NookLink, players can manage a lot about their Island without requiring the console at all times. This includes messaging friends on the game by using the phone as a keyboard, viewing passports and Creator IDs, scanning various QR codes and many more.
Following the release of the 2.0 update, NookLink also received a slight addition in the Island Newspaper. With this feature, players can view any recent events on their Island, which will show up as an article. When players view it for the first time, it will be empty. However, as fans progress in the game, many events will be logged into the newspaper for them to see later.

Using the app, fans can look at the prices of these items during AM and PM hours for the next six days. This allows the players to horde Turnips till a good enough value arise, which further helps them strategize on how and when they should grow them.
