The 1.11 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons has introduced tons of content for players. The major highlight of August is going to be the Fireworks festival. Nintendo will offer 12 new items for old players whereas newcomers can get their hands on 24 items, including 12 from 2020.

Developers are focusing back on veterans as they are introducing new items for them. Unlike the wedding season, where all items were returned from last year. We will also see some new seasonal events in the 1.11 update. Among them, Cowherd and Weaver Girl Day, a traditional Chinese celebration has already begun.

Cowherd and Weaver Girl Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

From August 5 to August 14, players can buy new items from the Nook Shopping related to Cowherd and Weaver Girl Day event. It will offer the Hikoboshi Outfit and Orihime Outfit. In Japan there is a custom of wearing a Yukata, a summer Kimono, during summer Fireworks Festivals.

Interestingly, Nintendo has designed these outfits similar to Yukata. Hence, you will enjoy the fireworks each Sunday while wearing a Yukata and experiencing Japanese tradition. You can buy both these items for 2500 bells, respectively. They will leave stores on August 31st, so purchase them before that.

Other upcoming seasonal events

There are more seasonal events in the 1.11 update other than Cowherd and Weaver Girl Day event for users to enjoy. Here are the upcoming seasonal events:

Obon

• Eggplant Cow and Cucumber Horse item available from August 10 to August 16

Moon- Viewing Day

• Dango and Moon Cakes–September 12- September 21

Chuseok

• Songpyeon- September 12 to September 21

Fireworks Festival in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Fireworks festival is the best event to enjoy pretty colors in the sky during the nighttime. The Fireworks shows are held every Sunday at 7 pm during the entire month of August at the same time for both hemispheres. You can enjoy the fireworks at night for five times in August on August 2, August 9, August 16, August 23, and August 30.

You can even create custom fireworks and enjoy them at sky later at night in the game. In order to make custom fireworks, you have to speak to Isabelle earlier that day to make them.
