What’s coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons with July summer update?
Fishing is already a key aspect of the game, but players will soon have more to do than running around with fishing rods near the shores. The oceans are opening up with July’s summer update. Players get to put on a wet suit and plunge off cliffs to swim and dive into the sea. While doing so, they can also collect new sea critters like sea stars, sea anemones, spotted garden eel, and scallops. As usual, these creatures can then be donated to Blathers for the museum.

Moreover, while swimming in the ocean, one might meet the new character, Pascal, who is a red otter. Pascal has appeared in the Animal Crossing series before, and he will offer New Horizons players with brand new mermaid-themed DIY recipes to craft in exchange for scallops.
