Five-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova shocked fans when she announced her retirement last season. During the Australian Open, she made public her intention after her first-round loss to Donna Vekic. As a player, the Russian enjoyed a considerable amount of success on the Tour.

Ever since she retired, Maria has been engaging in physical activity in the form of working out or yoga. As she doesn’t compete anymore, the former World No. 1 works out regularly to stay fit. It gives her a sense of motivation. To the delight of the fans, she keeps them updated with regular posts on social media.

Maria Sharapova Works Out in a Black Leotard

As the world went through a lockdown, people were advised to remain indoors in their homes due to the effects of the global pandemic. During this period, the Russian would routinely perform her various exercises.

Yesterday, she posted another clip of herself working out in an outfit she wore after a while. She worked out in a black leotard.

She took up to Instagram and posted a picture along with a caption that stated, “It’s been a few minutes (or years!!) since I wore a leotard. Anything to keep motivated working out from home. #DoNutStop #FitAndLit”

After her retirement, Maria made various other developments in her personal life. She announced her engagement towards the end of last year. She is engaged to a British businessman, Alexander Gilkes. He has an association with the Royal Family as he went to the same college as Prince William and Harry.

Coming back to Sharapova, the Russian won five Grand Slam titles during her career. She won at all four venues, covering all the different surfaces the sport is played on, and managed two Majors on the clay-courts of the French Open

Post-retirement, she concentrates on her commitments with her own brand ‘Sugarpova’, which specializes in making food items that are rich in sugar and carbohydrates.
