Apex Legends stands out for its diverse character roster, with every legend having unique ability kits. Back in Season 4, the developers introduced Revenant, who classifies as an offensive legend.

The Synthetic Nightmare’s powers make him efficient in ambushing and pushing opponents aggressively. His passive allows him to climb higher and crouch, walk faster, letting him stalk his prey. Revenant’s tactical silences opponents’ abilities, preventing them from countering and escaping. Meanwhile, his ultimate drops a totem that prevents him and his teammates from being knocked or killed.

While Revenant’s potential to cause devastation is apparent, he endured a tough start to life in the Apex Games. He was languishing among the least picked legends, but some improvements in Season 5 slightly boosted his usage rate.

Revenant still has to perform much better to achieve the stats of popular legends like Wraith, Bloodhound, and Horizon. The devs are aware of the situation, as they know the simulacrum should receive improvements. However, it seems those changes might not arrive anytime soon.

Apex Legends devs know Revenant should receive buffs, but they didn’t have time to figure out the suitable changes

In a recent Reddit thread about the Holo-Day Bash event, Apex Legends devs engaged in discussions with fans regarding upcoming updates. A player asked whether the devs have buffs lined up for Revenant in Season 8. The comment drew a response from Apex’s lead game designer Daniel Klein, who said, “No plans for next season.

Another player later inquired about a reason for that, and the Respawn dev provided some insight from his side into how Revenant’s abilities have been performing.

Klein explained, “His playstyle is what we call sharp: as in, success and failure are keenly felt. When his tactical and ultimate work, they work so well they make the enemy MORE frustrated than they make Rev & his team happy.

That’s a dangerous pattern. He absolutely should be getting buffs, but we didn’t have the time to find the right buffs.

This might not be exciting news for players who were hopeful of a Revenant buff coming. However, since the devs know that he should receive improvements, it is a matter of time before they incorporate the suitable changes. For now, it seems the Synthetic Nightmare will have to wait a little longer to receive his share of affection from the devs.
