The launch of Apex Legends Season 7 earlier this month treated players to a range of new content. Competition in the BR has elevated with the additions of the brand new Olympus map and Apex Games’ latest competitor, Horizon.

The onset of Season 7 contributed to several other adjustments and balancing changes which have brought about a significant shift in the game’s meta.

Apex Legends boasts a wide variety of powerful weapons. While each gun is unique in its own way, some clearly have the edge over the rest.

Let’s take a look at the ones that can be a valuable asset in a player’s quest to become the champion this season. Here is our compilation of the Top-10 weapons in the 7th Season of Apex Legends.

Apex Legends: Ranking All Legends in Season 7

Top 10 Weapons in Apex Legends Season 7

10. G7 Scout

Although this weapon classifies as an assault rifle, it functions as a semi-automatic marksman rifle. Despite receiving nerfs in past seasons, the G7 Scout has persisted as the preferred choice for many.

Since this gun uses light rounds, there are very few weapons better than it as far as ammo conservation is concerned. G7 Scout has a medium-range potential and the capability to contest snipers.

However, SMGs and shotguns overpower this AR in close combat, and its slow bullet travel speed also highlights its limitation over longer distances.

Overall, the G7 Scout is an all-round yet underrated weapon. It is a solid choice in competitive play as well as public matches in Season 7.

9. Havoc

This powerful assault rifle doesn’t rank higher because it requires a Turbocharger to unlock its devastating potential. Moreover, it uses energy ammo, which is harder to find.

However, a fully decked out Havoc is probably one of the best guns in Apex Legends. It deals great damage and has the highest magazine size and fastest projectile speed among all other ARs.

What’s more, the 2x headshot multiplier complements its strengths. The Havoc is still effective at lasering enemies without the Turbocharger if you have a corner to sit behind and charge it up.

But if you get caught out in the open, it is already too late to spin it up and start shooting.

8. Devotion

While the Devotion no longer belongs in the care package loot pool, if you manage to deck out this LMG in-game, it pretty much becomes equivalent to a care package weapon.

Once again, equipping a Turbocharger to this weapon completely unleashes it and makes it hard to counter. Devotion acquires a rapid firing rate and the highest DPS of any handheld weapon after charging up.

This further complements its high magazine capacity. However, being an LMG, it also has a strong recoil pattern and slow movement speed while ADS-ing.

Moreover, the Devotion is dependent on attachments, especially a Turbocharger, to reach maximum effectiveness. While this weapon is also among the best in the game when fully equipped, it demands a high skill ceiling without attachments.

Much like the Havoc, if you can accumulate the resources together, Devotion is going to shine.

7. VK-47 Flatline

The Flatline with a Level 3 magazine can hold 30 bullets. Paired with high damage per shot and a 2x headshot multiplier, this assault rifle has immense potential. Moreover, it performs well at close/medium range, and the hipfire is quite accurate.

The heavy ammo it uses is a good balance between the distinct characteristics of light and energy ammo. However, some other weapons in the game overshadow the Flatline.

The recoil pattern on this weapon might feel a little more difficult to control, and it is mediocre at long range. Apart from that, a 1x Holo or a 1x HCOG Classic comes recommended since the iron sights on some skins block a considerable amount of vision.

6. Wingman

One of Apex’s most famous weapons. While the average players might have a hard time controlling this pistol, it is great for the high-skilled players to drain enemy resources and get the job done if they land headshots consistently.

The Wingman has very high DPS, and the movement speed is the fastest when ADS-ing. It is extremely effective at all ranges and rewards highly for accurate aim when equipped with the Skullpiercer.

However, it can also punish you when it comes up against weapons with a rapid firing rate, and you miss enough shots. If you can keep your distance from the enemies while using the Wingman, connecting enough bullets in a row can send the opponent team packing.

5. Hemlok

This assault rifle received quite a few changes in Season 7. The update decreased its headshot multiplier from 2.0 to 1.75. Also, they increased the recoil of Hemlok’s first burst along with the recoil magnitude in the later stages of the pattern.

However, to compensate for the nerfs, they improved the single fire by reducing the recoil multiplier in this mode. These changes make this gun more challenging to use in close combat.

The Hemlok was last season’s showrunner, and it doesn’t have many weaknesses. This weapon performs efficiently at all ranges thanks to its distinct characteristics in both firing modes.

Therefore, the Hemlok remains a powerful choice despite having its strengths toned down recently.

This assault rifle has maintained its spot among the most prominent weapons in the game. The R-301 uses light ammo, which is really convenient to find and has high accuracy and firing rate.

Moreover, this weapon is capable of performing at all ranges, and the recoil pattern is easy to control even without a barrel. Besides that, R-301’s DPS and ammo capacity are also pretty decent.

Being an AR, it comes with the 2x headshot multiplier, which adds huge potential. This weapon does not have any major weaknesses and is a very stable weapon for most players. Some even consider it as one of the best guns in Apex Legends.

3. Volt

Since being introduced last season, the Volt has quickly established itself as one of the top guns in the game’s meta. Being an energy weapon, its fast bullet travel time makes it easier to track targets at long distances.

In addition to being effective at long range, this SMG has low recoil and a stable spray pattern. Players with high accuracy can hit almost all their shots from an entire magazine on the Volt.

Therefore, with some practice, you can easily wreck opponents with this gun. However, sometimes the Volt can lack ammo capacity and conservation. Apart from that, it is a premium weapon overall.

2. Mastiff

If a player from Apex’s competitive scene sees a Mastiff on the ground, they will probably pick it up. A well-connected shot from this semi-automatic shotgun can inflict severe damage consistently, making it easy to down opponents in the early stages.

The key to using this weapon to its fullest potential is to peek behind cover while shooting it. Sometimes the Mastiff also requires leading its shots a bit, which could take time for beginner players to comprehend.

Depending on how the pellets work, shotguns do varying damage, but the Mastiff is perhaps the most influential shotgun in the BR.

1. R-99

The Season 7 update reintroduced the R-99 out of care packages, and this SMG has taken over the game’s meta. Once again, this weapon uses light ammo, which you can find almost everywhere.

The R-99 has immense potential in close range due to its high DPS and magazine capacity and fast firing rate. While this gun has a strong recoil, equipping a barrel on it makes the recoil much easier to control.

Moreover, being an SMG, it facilitates fast movement while aiming down sights. Besides that, the R-99 is able to form viable weapon combinations with a variety of weapons. Overall, the characteristics of this gun make it efficient in combat.

An honorable mention for this list would be the Triple Take. Despite having its fire rate reduced in Season 7, the Triple Take has maintained a spot in the game’s meta and is still a devastating sniper to use.

That concludes our list for the best weapons in Apex Legends Season 7. Let us know which weapons do you think are the best this season in the comments below!
