By Mike Collett LONDON (Reuters) -Arsenal went top of the Premier League when they beat Everton 2-1 on Saturday on a black day for champions Chelsea who had manager Jose Mourinho banished from the dugout and Nemanja Matic sent off in a 2-1 defeat at West Ham United. Arsenal, who scored twice in two minutes through Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny, have 22 points from their 10 games, and will stay top at least until Sunday when Manchester City, who slipped back to second on 21, play Manchester United, fourth on 19, at Old Trafford. West Ham finished the day in third place on 20 points after their derby win over Chelsea which came courtesy of goals from Mauro Zarate and a header from substitute Andy Carroll. Chelsea scored through Gary Cahill but after Cesc Fabregas had a goal disallowed for offside and Matic was sent off for two yellow cards, referee Jon Moss ordered Mourinho to the stands for the second half after the manager had approached him at the end of the half. Neither Mourinho nor any of his management team attended the post-match media conference. Leicester City beat Crystal Palace 1-0 with Jamie Vardy scoring for the seventh successive league match, Swansea City beat Aston Villa 2-1, West Bromwich Albion won 1-0 at Norwich City and Watford won 2-0 at Stoke City. Their most successful manager has been Jose Mourinho, who has won eight titles in his two stints at Stamford Bridge. Their current manager, Frank Lampard is regarded as their most legendary figure along with the likes of John Terry, Didier Drogba, David Webb, John Hollins, and Pat Nevin.

In 2016, Chelsea was ranked as the seventh most valuable football club in the world ?1.15 billion, by Forbes magazine. As of 2016, Chelsea are ranked eighth in the Deloitte Football Money League with annual commercial revenue of ?322.59 million.

Most recently, they won the UEFA Champions League under the leadership of manager Thomas Tuchel. They beat the Premier League champions Manchester City 1-0 in the final as Kai Havertz took the Blues to the promised land.

<h2><strong>Premier League 2021/22</strong></h2>
The 30<sup>th</sup> season of the top flight professional English football, Premier League 2021/22 will take place from August 13 2021 to May 17 2022. After a not-so-thrilling title race last season against Manchester United, Manchester City emerged victorious for the Premier League title. The 2021/22 edition of the tournament is set to bring an equal amount of excitement, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United all in the mix for the title.

Comprising of four divisions until 1991, the top division of English football split up and all the teams in the top division, after multiple discussions with the football authorities and television broadcasters, formed the Premier League in 1992.

The competition format remained the same, with three clubs relegated and three clubs promoted every season, and the top four clubs in the Premier League would qualify for the Champions League.

The main reason for the change in approach was to bring in more money into the game. The first broadcast rights for the Premier League was to be won at ?304?million over five years by Sky UK. The Premier League is the most-watched sports league in the world, broadcast in 212 territories to 643?million homes and a potential TV audience of 4.7?billion people.
