Set 3: Ashleigh Barty claims the deciding set with ease

As the second set was over, Aryna took a medical timeout. As play resumed, Ashleigh opened proceedings in the final set and held serve with ease. The momentum was clearly in favor of the Australian player as she broke Sabalenka in her first service game of the deciding set.

In a matter of minutes, Barty raced to a 3-0 lead and had the WTA Stuttgart Open 2021 trophy in her sights. Interestingly, the Belarusian athlete was in no mood to give up easily and broke the Australian player in the fifth game, trailing at 2-3 in the third set.
