Barty began the set by taking a 2-0 lead, but Sharapova’s winners became quite visible when the Australian was serving to take a 3-0 lead. That particular game of the set turned out to be an elongated one. Maria came up with breathtaking winners and also faced four opportunities to take away the service game from Barty. As her erroneous form of tennis was quite evident in a game, Ashleigh Barty led by 3-0.

She Ripped!

Barty’s first serve percentage was little shaken in this second set, but however, she controlled the tennis ball from the baseline and led by 4-1. The 2011 Cincinnati champion, Sharapova couldn’t keep a hold on her unforced errors from her forehand and the reigning French Open champion extended the lead by 5-1 and later closed out the match.
