Indian men’s basketball team learning a lesson with their earlier closely fought battle with Saudi Arabians, outplayed Kazakhstan 80-61 to top Group B at the Asian Games basketball competition.

The Indians, who lost a hard fought match against Saudi Arabia 67-73 on Sunday, won their second of the three qualifying matches and moved on to the next round.

India took control from the very start after taking the first quarter 24-14. The Amritpal Singh-led team never let the match slip from their hand and extended the lead in the next quarter to 47-31. The third and the fourth quarters were no different with the Indian men winning it easily.

India will next play Philippines on Tuesday.
