The 2022 Saudi International had a cliffhanger of a finish as Harold Varner III won the event. He needed an eagle on the final hole to win or a birdie to force a playoff against Bubba Watson. However, Varner made an incredible eagle and got a victory at the 2022 Saudi International. 

Meanwhile, this was his first-ever appearance and win at the Asian Tour. Notably, Cameron Smith and Matthew Wolff remained T-4 and T-6, respectively. Moreover, Varner carded –13 for the event while Bubba remained just a stroke behind with a score of -12. But Harold’s final putt on the 18th green stole the show. Harold Varner III wins the 2022 Saudi International in style

Bubba Watson had the clubhouse lead as he carded -12 for the event. However, Varner was trailing Bubba by a stroke with three holes remaining. Furthermore, he carded a bogey on the 16th, which got him back to -10, and it looked like Bubba would emerge as a winner.

However, Harold made an excellent comeback with a birdie on the 17th to cut the lead to one stroke. So going to the 72nd hole, he had to eagle the par-5 or at least a birdie to force a playoff. Notably, Harold reached at the edge of the green in two and went for the putt, which was around 90ft. 

Hence, it was difficult for Harold to sink the putt for an eagle, but a decent drain would have given him a chance for a playoff. However, Harold Varner III executed an incredible putt that had a tremendous break from right to left. He drained the putt for an eagle and was unstoppable and was overwhelmed with joy. 

Moreover, even though Bubba Watson lost the event, he immediately congratulated Harold, which shows his incredible sportsman spirit. Notably, Varner won 1,000,000 USD, and the entire golfing world has gone crazy after witnessing this putt.
