American sprinter Trayvon Bromell had a rough start in 2021, as the American crashed out early at the Olympics. Unexpectedly, one of the favorites to clinch the Olympic gold was eliminated in the semi-final round of the 100m sprint race. Moving forward from the mega-quadrennial games, Trayvon also failed to win a medal medal at the Nike Prefontaine Classic in Bromell as he finished at the fourth position.
However, Trayvon still did not lose hope and kept competing at the Diamond League meets.

The American sprinting star has an optimistic personality. While Trayvon has not been at his best lately, he has the potential to win, as he has the record of the fastest man (2021) in the 100m race.
Back in June 2021, Trayvon clocked the fastest time of the year at 9.77 seconds. Notably, this made him the world’s seventh-fastest man, adding him into the elite list with Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, Tyson Gay, and Justin Gatlin. Interestingly, the current 100m stars Fred Kerely, Andre De Grasse, and Michael Norman are not in the top 10.

Way forward for Trayvon Bromell
Trayvon will now compete at the Kip Keino Classic Continental Tour on the 18th of September. Notably, he enters as the continental tour leader. The Olympic legend Justin Gatlin will also be part of the race in the Kasarani Stadium. Kenya’s Omanyla holds the national record at 9.86 seconds, and will also compete.
The world leader Trayvon will continue his campaign to reach the top. Since the race is in Kenya, hopefully running overseas will finally work for him. Interestingly, Justin Gatlin is retiring soon and this will be one of the few races left on his list.
