Trayvon had a rough year at the Olympics and Diamond League Athletics meet, but Bromell is still the world’s fastest man in 2021. At the Olympics trials for team USA, Bromell won the race defeating now Olympic champion Fred Kerley. Bromell clocked 2021’s fastest time at 9.77 seconds, and no one has been able to break it this season until he himself did.

At the Kip Keino Classic, Bromell clocked the terrific time of 9.76 seconds in the 100m event. While he again became the world’s fastest man in 2021, Bromell won the hearts by a sweet gesture to a fan after the race. A fan was holding a banner in the audience that said, “Trayvon Bromell Kindly Give Me Your Spike.” American sprinter did not think twice and gave the excited fan his spikes.

Later on, Bromell posted a tweet explaining the reason behind his gesture. Apparently, before becoming a champion, Trayvon had decided to always be humble to his fans.

Explaining the reason, he wrote, “Growing up, me and my coach was at a meet and ask one of track and fields previous WRH for an autograph. He looked at us and kept it moving. I made a promise to never do that. I never forgot that moment. ”
