Recently, Atlanta Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff and coach Dan Quinn placed a lot of faith in their team. In the last several campaigns, the Atlanta Falcons had placed very high self-expectations and the same applies this season as well.

Speaking to the Bird Noises podcast, Dimitroff said, “There are high expectations coming into this season. Everyone knows that. No one is shying away from that. Dan and myself included.”

Admittedly, the Falcons have a tough task ahead of them, especially in terms of rebuilding the squad. They are without the services of tight end Austin Hooper, running back Devonta Freeman, pass rusher Vic Beasley and cornerback Desmond Trufant.

To make up for that, new faces were added, like running back Todd Gurley, tight end Hayden Hurst, pass rusher Dante Fowler and first-round cornerback A.J. Terrell.

In spite of the reinforcements, Dimitroff knows that there is still a lot to do to hone the team. However, he is confident that the Falcons can overcome back-to-back seasons of struggles. The only question is, can the Atlanta Falcons overcome their opponents and win this year’s NFL?

“I feel like we’ve definitely gotten better,” Dimitroff said. “Of course, we’ve lost some very good football players.”

He was referring to a spate of injuries to the likes of Keanu Neal, Calvin Ridley, James Carpenter and Takkarist McKinley. Hopefully, they should return healthy and steady the ship. With Hall of Fame hopefuls, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones leading the chard, the Falcons have plenty of talent and growth for a winning formula.

“I do believe this is a very talented football team,” Dimitroff concluded. “We need to continue to grow together as a football team. We need to continue to be consistent and work through things together.”
