Former NBA Legend Raves About Roger Federer’s Immense Contribution to the Sport With an Emotional Post

Roger Federer walked out of the circuit after last year’s Wimbledon Championships. Since then fans were eagerly waiting to see the legend grace the courts again. However, as a shock to everyone, Federer announced his retirement this Thursday. From legends to newcomers, everyone took a pause to appreciate the career Federer has had. One amongst them was Pau Gasol.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion’s decision not only shocked the tennis world but also stirred up things in other sports. He last played at Wimbledon and faced a straight-set defeat in the quarterfinals against the Polish tennis professional and former world no.9 Hubert Hurkacz.

Gasol’s message for Roger Federer

The six time NBA All-Star took to Twitter to thank the Swiss legend for his contribution to the Swiss star. He wrote, Thank you for inspiring us and setting a great example for all of us, Roger Federer!”

The former World no.1 earlier attended a Lakers game alongside the 14 times Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras. There, he shared some words with the late Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol and clicked pictures that are a treasure to the fans of both the games.
