Marco Trungelliti defeated Bueno in their latest ATP Tour match, marking Bueno’s second consecutive loss. However, Bueno refuses to give up. As revealed in a recent podcast, he is seeking inspiration from his life and idols to end his losing streak.

ATP star Bueno proclaims his admiration of Rafael Nadal
In a recent podcast, the upcoming ATP star Gonzalo Bueno professed his admiration of the Spaniard. In the podcast, the tennis star said that Nadal’s passion inspires him daily and makes him want to strive to improve. The tennis legend’s versatility made Bueno consider him as his role model. “He’s [Nadal] my idol,” said Bueno when the host asked him about having a role model growing up.

Bueno also agreed that Nadal’s play style is something he considers exquisite and would want to replicate. Bueno stated that Nadal’s relentless nature makes him a true legend. Despite battling injuries, Nadal awaits his return to the court at a late stage of his career. “..It’s amazing to see that,” said Bueno about the 37-year-old 92-times ATP singles winner. Watching Nadal blending things isn’t something Bueno can’t get tired of, claimed the Peruvian star.

His admiration for Nadal made him visit a match of the Spanish star. “I also saw him in French open… two times,” revealed Bueno. While he couldn’t chance a meeting being a junior player, he could feel Nadal’s prowess from afar. “It’s like a lion,” Bueno didn’t hesitate to acknowledge.
Nadal itching to return to the game
Only yesterday did fans learn about Nadal’s plans to return to action. The 37-year-old confirmed that he will be back soon but didn’t elaborate. In his Twitter post, Nada said he would announce his return date and more details about his time in the coming days.

Nadal’s defeat in the Australian Open was a dual blow to his muscle injury. But he’s battling the fight as hard as possible and is training his body to recuperate from the physical distress. As Gonzalo Bueno looks to earn his name in Turin, Italy, it waits to be seen if Rafa can boost the young player’s skills in any way.
