The Spanish tennis legend, Rafael Nadal, has cemented his position as one of the greatest players on the ATP tour. The French Open champion has outclassed some of the top players in order to clinch various Grand Slam titles under his belt. However, even the greatest players need role models to get inspired to reach the unprecedented heights of their journies.
Such is the case, with the 22-time singles Grand Slam champion who has always admired some of the greatest athletes like Roger Federer and Tiger Woods. However, Nadal recently made a surprising revelation about the list of his idols which doesn’t include the likes of the American golf legend.

Rafael Nadal on admiring people during his stellar journey
The Spanish tennis star was recently featured in an interview where he talked about various aspects of his illustrious journey on the court. Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal was asked what men and women has he admired during his stellar journey. The French Open champion’s answer surprised a slew of tennis fans as he didn’t include the names of some of the greatest players.
Instead, Nadal revealed that it is his family and friends who have always inspired him during every phase of his journey. He said, “My father, my mother, my sister, my uncles… I think they are my immediate reference and those who together with my team have made me be better in every way.”

Nadal, who has always considered the American golfer Tiger Woods as his sporting idol, didn’t include him. However, he even mentioned that his close friends and some public personalities are part of the list of idols. Surprisingly, Nadal’s friend and old rival, Roger Federer was also not there among the others.

When Nadal opened up about his admiration of Tiger Woods
The American golfer has cemented his name as one of the greatest athletes in the sporting realms. Tiger Woods overcame many challenges and barriers in order to reach unprecedented heights on the tour. In doing so, he further refuted his critics and naysayers who were a part of his journey. However, Woods’ struggles with injuries are something that has always been a huge challenge for the pro golfer.
