After joining the likes of Nancy Lopez (1978) and Annika Sorenstam (2004-5) with her five consecutive wins, the American golfer now has a great opportunity to clinch a historic sixth-straight victory. However, Korda has some other plans, as she recently announced her decision to pull out of the next event on the tour.

Nelly Korda withdraws from the next event after pulling off a record-equalling feat

Despite having a chance to clinch a historic sixth-straight victory on the LPGA Tour, the American golfer has decided to withdraw from the JM Eagle LA Championship. After winning her second major title at the Chevon Championship, Korda announced in an official statement that it was “not an easy decision” to miss out on the next event on the tour. The LPGA golfer also disclosed the reason behind her decision, saying that she is worn out from her hard work over the previous five weeks.

She stated, “After the unbelievable week at The Chevron and grinding through the mental and physical challenges of four events in the past five weeks, I am definitely feeling exhausted. With so much still to come throughout 2024, I feel I need to listen to my body and get some rest, so I can be ready for the remainder of the season.”
