Fancy shoes, bold glasses, funky chains, and electronic gadgets have been quite a temptation for sports stars. Modern-day athletes—including Frances Tiafoe who became the third African American to be ranked in the top ten of the ATP rankings in June—have shown a particular liking towards a flattering list of luxurious products.

Apparently, a special variety of Michael Jordan‘s famous Nike Air Jordans enjoy a sweet spot of second on the list, shortly followed by the rackets that Tiafoe makes his living with. In fact, Nike’s Air Jordan continues to dominate the market for sporting apparel, hitting a whopping $5 billion worth of sales in 2022. Their customers are loyal to the brand and Frances Tiafoe is a prime example of that.

Just ahead of the US Open, Tiafoe agreed to an interview with a famous New York magazine. The interview titled What Frances Tiafoe Can’t Live Without was based on the important accessories or equipment for an athlete. While the list included basics such as cookies, chocolates, and headphones, one such accessory stood out. Tiafoe refused to let go of his love for Air Jordans.

Tiafoe’s current favorite is the Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro. He said via The Strategist, “I’m a big shoehead. I love to have some heat on the feet. I make sure to rock my Nikes anytime I’m not on the court.” But, Air Jordan is not the only brand he possesses.

Big Foe also spoke highly of other brands that he closely associates with: “I’ve been loving the Travis Scott lows. I just got the new Tiffanys — those are tough. I’ve been loving the Dunks lately too.” However, his love for Michael Jordan’s brand remains unparalleled.

Talking about the same, the World No.10 added, “But you can’t go wrong with a pair of Jordan 1s; you’re always solid with those. They have just the best look. I have them in all different colors — I like to mix it up.”

As a tennis ace, Tiafoe rightly tops his list with Yonex racquets. His current favorite is Yonex Percept 97. He remarked, “I’ve been playing with Yonex racquets since I was 18, so I’ve been with them for a while. I definitely take them wherever I go, especially when I’m training, and I feel like I can do anything with this racquet: I’m an all-court player and I’m an aggressive baseliner and I can come forward at my best.

“I definitely have all the shots and a lot of tools in the tool bag. And for my game, this racquet has it all — control, power, finesse. It’s kind of the perfect racquet.”

Apart from fanboying over the NBA legend’s shoe line, Tiafoe is also a massive NBA fan. Recently, he also shared a warm embrace with Kevin Durant in Washington.
