The rivalry between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer is one that will forever be remembered in tennis. The two players have divided fans over the years and the discussion between their fans almost always goes out of hand. But not every tennis fan is inclined to one. Recently, Dirk Nowitzki, on his way to the NBA Hall of fame, shared his difficulty in picking one over the other.

Nowitzki dedicated his entire career to basketball. But following basketball in his love of sports is tennis. The former Dallas Mavericks player often dabbles with tennis and is quite active on his social media. Commending Carlos Alcaraz before, he was now faced with a choice that confused him to no end.
NBA hall of famer inductee unable to pick between Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal
Dirk Nowitzki recently interviewed with the WTA about his passion for tennis. While he built his career in basketball, he called tennis his “First love“. The former Dallas Maverick player who will be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame, has followed the sport religiously. Just last year, he was spotted watching the WTA Finals.
As he grew up with tennis, Nowitzki stated that he was a big fan of both Federer and Nadal, therefore picking one would be an impossible task. “I watch tennis a lot“. He further goes on to say, “I love tennis. I grew up playing tennis, so I’ve followed the sport my entire life. Of course, I’m a huge Roger Federer guy, a Nadal fan. It’s tough to really pick one favorite.”

While Nowitzki has Fedal in his heart, the new kid on the block Carlos Alcaraz has also captured his attention. In the arena to watch his Indian Wells stint, Nowitzki made sure to commend him after the tournament.
Carlos Alcaraz captures the attention of Dirk Nowitzki
Nowitzki is a tennis fan through and through and often attends tournaments. This year, he sat through the Indian Wells Masters and one player caught his eye. The winner, Carlos Alcaraz impressed Nowitzki and his compatriot, Steve Nash. A chat between the two which was leaked later confirmed the fact that the two acted like fanboys of the Spaniard.
After a long career, Dirk Nowitzki is now settling down, so that he can finally indulge his love for tennis.
