Whether it is his on-court outburst or his attire, the 27-year-old and his antics have often been met with a series of controversies. A similar incident took place when the bad boy of tennis walked onto the Centre Court while wearing red and gold colored sneakers inspired by the NBA legend, Michael Jordan. Kyrgios wore the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low, during the previous season.

In doing so, he breached Wimbledon’ all-white tradition for the attire of every participant in the tournament. However, no such major action was taken by the authorities considering the Australian tennis player’s violation of the competition’s apparel rule. Now, Kyrgios has brought to light the same incident while he also took an indirect jibe at Wimbledon.

The official Twitter account of Wimbledon recently conducted a Q and A session for a slew of tennis fans to gauge their reactions on the social media platform.

Nick Kyrgios had a taunting answer for the same as he reminisced about his controversial attire from the previous season’s Grand Slam event in which he reached the finals against Novak Djokovic.

He said, “My red Jordan hat,” to remind them about his red and gold-colored, Nike Air Jordan 1 Low which also became a hugely contentious issue for the entire tennis community. By wearing those bright-colored sneakers, the controversial tennis star somehow violated the tournament’s all-white tradition for the attire that is the same for every other participant.

During an old interview, the Australian tennis star was asked about his controversial choice of shoes that didn’t match the tournament’s policies. The 27-year-old answered in defiance by saying that he does what he wants. However, Kyrgios also said that he is not above the rules of the authorities and tennis tradition.

It’s just that he like wearing his Jordans whether they are red-colored or some other. Kyrgios once again expressed his love for Jordans by saying that nobody else really walks on the court with those hyped sneakers.
