Controversial Tennis Star, Who Broke the Rules for Michael Jordan, Crowns LeBron James As ‘GOAT’ Despite Kobe Bryant Fandom

The Australian tennis star, Nick Kyrgios, is a huge basketball fan. If not for a tennis player, he would have surely chosen basketball as his career. Recently, he disclosed who he feels is the greatest of all time in the basketball world. Spoiler; he’s not Michael Jordan. Although, the tennis legend broke Wimbledon rules once just to wear the Air Jordan shoes popularized by the NBA legend. However, Jordan is still not his pick for the GOAT tag. But instead, he chose the current NBA star LeBron James.

The 27-year-old tennis player is such a big fan of basketball that he frequently talks about his favorite NBA stars and likes to update his fans on his basketball knowledge.

The bad boy of tennis was recently invited as a guest on the Impaulsive podcast, where he talked about tennis, and who is the greatest of all time in tennis. Not only that, but he also addressed who is the greatest of all time in the world of the NBA.

Kyrgios  revealed that he has Kobe Bryant tattooed on his hand in admiration of  what the basketball legend did for the sport. Along with that, he also has a tattoo of  the 38-year-old American basketball star Lebron James. who he considers the GOAT.

He said, “I think LeBron’s a GOAT. I’ve got, I’ve got Kobe here tattooed and I got LeBron on my arm like I love like. I live basketball like love it. I play a little bit I don’t know if I could have played in the league but I could have played somewhere.”

Further, Kyrgios also highlighted that he could have played basketball professionally if not tennis.

This is not the first time the Wimbledon finalist praised the American basketball legend as the GOAT. Back in 2020, in an interview, he also opened up about why he choose James as the GOAT of the sport.

We all are well aware that the world number 19 tennis player is a huge LeBron fan. A few years back, the tennis star talked about how the 38-year-old NBA Legend is underappreciated at times.
