40-year-old Andy Roddick was a fearsome opponent to face during his professional tennis playing days. Roddick’s game was all about power, and very few players could manage to get the better of him when he was at the peak of his powers. Since retiring from pro tennis in 2012, Roddick slowly and successfully transitioned to the role of radio host. Today, he frequently hosts talk shows on the radio, and he is also very active on Twitter, where he minces no words while voicing his heartfelt thoughts and opinions.
Recently, Roddick took to Twitter and had a go at Jalen Rose, a former pro basketball player who is working as a sports analyst right now. In his tweet, Roddick was responding to a comment from Rose on the New York Knicks.

While the New York Knicks may have found Rose’s comment helpful and insightful, for Roddick, the perception was completely different. The official Twitter handle of New York Basketball tweeted Rose’s comment, and Roddick reacted quite strongly to it. Retweeting New York Basketball’s post, Roddick said, “Did they not play inside in air conditioning? Asking for all the people who play outside in 100 degree heat…..”
Roddick was quite obviously referring to tennis players who often have to play grueling matches outside for hours. Swiss tennis ace Stan Wawrinka found Roddick’s post quite funny. He retweeted it with several laughing emojis. Rose is yet to respond to Roddick’s critique.

Roddick’s social media responses reflect his honesty
Andy Roddick seems to have taken his aggressive attitude from the tennis court to social media as well. Despite the aggression in his social media personality, more often than not, he does make a lot of sense. However, his unwavering honesty also lands him in some trouble with fans.

For instance, recently, a fan reacted strongly after Roddick voiced his opinion on 20-year-old Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz. According to Roddick, Alcaraz, despite his prodigious talent, is yet to reach Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s level. An Alcaraz fan hit back at Roddick, but the former World No. 1 shut the fan up once and for all with a powerful tweet.
